I just found this interesting article online on Yahoo Finance. Where it asked their readers the following question:
“If you had $5,000, would you put it on Amazon.com, Inc., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd - ADR or Jumia Technologies AG?”
Which of these e-commerce companies would you spend your money on, If you only had the opportunity of investing your money today?
Let’s discuss this in the comments
Alibaba, on the Hong Kong exchange, especially with the current market sentiment and the dip.
This company was already undervalued for the amount of growth it experiences and now with the temporary dip even more so.
Alibaba it is for me. The valuation together with the growth they still have is just too attractive.
Amazon too expensive for me to ever consider it.
Amazon, easy choice. I think the Chinese government wants more competitors on the E-commerce market so that’s not good for ALIBABA but Amazon is just such a great company and even with that super profitable cloud division…. It’s amazing. It’s a bit pricey but if I had 1 choice I would Amazon and with a 10 year vision I am sure it is the best pick
Amazon also has antitrust issues. China is not doing unthinkable things at all. They are making sure that the big chinese tech companies have no monopoly and make sure they protect the data of the consumer. Next to that the Chinese middle class is getting richer. Which will give Chinese tech companies revenue growth over the next 5 to 10 years.
